The Northern Cape is the biggest of the nine provinces in South Africa, covering almost a third of the total surface area of the country, with a population of less than a million people. The Kalahari desert is one of the oldest deserts in the world, with a wealth of desert-adapted creatures inhabiting the dunes and plains covered in Bushman grass and Camelthorn trees. From the majestic black-mane Kalahari lion, leopard, cheetah; to big herds of Wildebeest, Springbok and Oryx; Africa’s biggest eagles and vultures, to flocks of sociable weavers sharing a metric ton nest with the smallest of the falcons – the pygmy falcon.


Kgalagadi covers an area almost twice the size of Kruger Park, 3.7 million hectares of unspoilt wilderness. Accommodation varies from en-suite chalets in the traditional fenced rest camps, secluded bush camps (unfenced), to camping. With daily flights to Upington, from Johannesburg and Cape Town, or transfers from any city in SA, it has never been this easy to visit the Kalahari region.

Kalahari
The Kalahari and Namib deserts form the ideal setting, with flowing red sand dunes and spectacular sunsets. The deserts and semi-deserts are rich in life, with concentrations around the water sources.

A Botswana safari can include the Okavango Delta, Moremi National Park and Savute within Chobe National Park.


Northern Botswana is home to more than 70 000 elephants and only 1.7 million humans, a well-balanced ecosystem of predators and prey species, rich variety of bird species, among other.

Each wildlife safari would consist of either fly-in 5-star lodge options, or a 4x4 option, with camping in the wilderness. Activities may include guided nature walks, 4x4 trails, mokoro trips in the Delta channels, game drives and night game drives on open vehicles, as well as helicopter and Cessna flips over the Delta.

The Okavango Delta is in flood from May or June until September every year. This leads to a whole network of water channels and islands, concentrating wildlife on the limited dry areas.
