My friends and I enjoyed amazing animal sightings, delicious meals planned and prepared by Jaco, and unforgettable memories made. Moments I will never forget! And even on days when animal sightings were more scarce, he provided wonderful tips to all of us on photography and getting the most from our cameras. Really so helpful. Can’t wait until my next adventure! I highly recommend this excellent company.
Thank you from the Motlekar Family for making our day so so special. We learnt so much in those few hours . Surely a trip we would recommend. Stay blessed and good luck for the very trying year ahead.
Jaco is an exceptionally knowledgable and caring person who does not allow any disability or impairment to be a barrier to fully accessing the beauty of South Africa.
On three of my visits I’ve travelled with my mom who is in her late 70s. Thanks to Jaco, we were able to visit places I otherwise could only dream off. We’ve seen the amazing wildlife (up close) and I’ve walked (wheeled) with elephants. On one occasion we also visited historic sites of interest, including a place where my Great-Grandfather spent time during the Boar War. There’s also been time for shopping!
Jaco pays meticulous attention to every aspect of the trip. Each hotel room that I have stayed in whilst on tour with Cape Fox has been fully accessible (this includes the whole range from budget to 5*). Jaco’s vehicles are fully wheelchair accessible and more than comfortable.
My most recent visit centred on a business trip. I am employed full time as an academic at a UK University. In 2019 I was invited to visit the University of Johannesburg to run a two day long workshop. I contacted Jaco and, as usual, he was waiting for me at the airport with a big smile and a warm welcome. Before facilitating the workshops I took 5 days leave. Although I’d only given him a few weeks notice, Jaco arranged an amazing short tour. I spent a few days on Safari before I visited Soweto. Following this I found time to be introduced to two ‘baby’ white lions who are being raised in captivity for their protection. The photos I took of a 5 month old lion cub biting my wheels are amongst my favourites and have pride of place in my home.
I could go on (and on). Suffice to say I highly recommend Cape Fox Tours & it’s proprietor Mr Jaco Powell to everyone and anyone looking to visit South Africa for a break. Even if it’s only a few days and planned around a business trip!
The best recommendation I can give is to say that touring with Cape Fox takes away all of the socially constructed barriers associated with disability. In South Africa I wasn’t disabled, I was just me!!
Jaco offers value for money, individual attention and meticulous planning. In short, a completely worry free, high quality holiday.
Dr Jane Andrews (PhD)
He is an excellent , reliable , adaptable and knowledgeable guide. His passion for nature , the wildlife and their behaviour is one of the reasons that we continue to travel with him.
He has tailor made some excellent itineraries to give us the best chances of finding and photographing nature.
He always endeavours to put clients in the best place and at the right time to both view and photograph wildlife and landscapes.
His experience as a first class photographer is an incredible bonus. We have always enjoyed our experiences with Jaco and would have traveled with him this year but for covid.
He is a great guide with a keen interest in the environment and we have always found his trips to be excellent value.
Over the years he has become not just a guide but also a friend.
